It is paramount that retail investors are properly represented at EU level. Over the next few years the Juncker Commission intends to create “the building blocks of a Capital Markets Union” (CMU) and establish a genuine single market in retail financial services and insurance. For there to be a fruitful debate on these matters the input of retail investors all over Europe is necessary.
The European Investors’ Association – European Investors – was founded in the summer of 2015 following the observation that EU policy debates included no European organisation representing the specific interests of European retail investors. Our aim is to fill this gap and help the EU to arrive at sound and sustainable policies by providing valuable input on behalf of retail investors.
